This course provides essential knowledge about asbestos, a naturally occurring mineral that was widely used in construction materials for decades. Participants will learn:
What asbestos is and its health hazards: Understand the types of asbestos, how it can be released into the air, and the serious health risks associated with exposure, including lung cancer and mesothelioma.
Asbestos identification and assessment: Learn to recognize common asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) such as insulation, flooring, and ceiling tiles. Develop skills in assessing potential asbestos hazards in various settings.
Asbestos handling and control: Understand safe work practices for handling and removing ACMs, including proper containment, decontamination, and disposal procedures.
