This course is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and skills necessary to fulfill the role of a Competent Person for excavation work. Participants will learn about:

• OSHA excavation regulations: Understand the requirements and best practices for safe excavation work.

• Soil classification and identification: Learn to recognize different soil types and their associated hazards.

• Excavation hazards: Identify and assess potential hazards such as cave-ins, soil collapse, and struck-by hazards.

• Excavation planning and inspection: Develop and implement safe excavation plans, conduct thorough inspections, and implement appropriate protective measures.

• Emergency response procedures: Learn how to respond effectively to excavation emergencies, including cave-ins and other incidents.
